What's NEX for United Way?

NEX reaches next level with their generous United Way gift

Friday June 16, 2017

NEX Transport announced a $100,000 donation to United Way of Logan County at the ribbon cutting of their new 100,000-square foot warehouse in East Liberty on Thursday.  It's the result of their internal United Way workplace campaign for 2017, representing $50,150 in associate contributions and a 100% corporate match.

With the gift, NEX becomes just the 3rd workplace to ever reach six figures in one-year giving to United Way of Logan County (Honda of America, Mfg. and AcuSport being the others). It represents a jaw-dropping $96,700 increase over last year, and sets the tone for United Way's upcoming fall campaign.

"This is a great way to kick off our campaign before we even really kick it off," said Rick Hatcher, Campaign Co-Chair.  "It's not just the support of United Way, but the support of our community and their whole three "Pillars of Success," it fits in well with United Way."

Growing with the happiness of associates, customers, and the community in mind, NEX  completed a $6 million investment in new warehouse space and corporate offices while adding 19 percent to its workforce in the last year.

"We do believe in giving back to the community," said Tod Johnson, NEX Vice President of Company Operations.  "That is one of our three Pillars of Success.  And in order for us to do that, we felt that United Way was the best avenue to reach the most people in our community.  It's one of the things I'm proud about for this company.  Our associates are able to give back to the community in which they live and work."

More than 320 NEX associates are giving to United Way, all via payroll deduction, giving an average of $4 per week.
